The new cat's name is Creamsicle! My parents' cat of quite a few years passed away late last year. Apparently this one showed up at my brother's house without a tag and hung out for a few days, so my folks had it checked out and took it home.
Unfortunately Creamsicle didn't get along with my folks' other new cat, but my brother's family also moved to a new place, so Creamsicle went back to live with them instead.
